Self Reflective Survey

Cultivating a Mentoring Program
and a
Collaborative Co-creative WHQ chi field of teachers and healers

The Mentoring Program within Wisdom Healing Qigong is a living example of the chi field's support through our informed, reflective, conscious and activated response to each other. As Mingtong shares frequently, as our path moves on up the mountain there are many view points with different perspectives that engage us; some elicit joy, some great challenge. As we walk together cultivating our Gong, (our virtue and the free flowing nature of our energy) we benefit from our shared experience. In sharing together, supporting each other and providing each other with energetic patterns for copying, our personal experiences benefit the collective field. Haola!

Our mentoring program is a purposeful effort to bring forth our potential as WHQ teachers and healers. Self Assessment and the capacity to be self reflective and interdependent is a key to our cultivation.

Steps to the Survey:
1) Set aside a generous period of time (1-2 hours suggested), set a powerful chi field, using an audio file of Linling singing the chifield song or the chifield setting from a retreat or practice file if you have one. Visualize yourself held in the heart of our collective community.

2) You are engaged in this level because of your already deep commitment to this practice. Take the opportunity to look deeply in this engagement with these questions. Initiating a time of fruitful personal reflection.  Work through the questions, adding your own reflections as they arise from the process.

3) With a chi buddy, set aside some time together, in person, on Skype or the phone and explore your answers.  The purpose being that as we listen to each other, we empower other dimensions of opening and understanding that arise from the shared journey. Agree on a listening pattern that feels good for the two of you.

4) With your chi buddies support, articulate some goals, intentions, desires that can guide your participation in our community over the next period of time. Write them down and bear witness to each others intentions. Visualizing that for them.  Include what kinds of support from our chi community would help you realize your desires.

5) Send an email summarizing your personal goals, and the kind of support you desire from the community to the Mentoring Group  (Amy, Guma).  Let us know if you have skills to offer the group at this point in your cultivation. Visualize our collaborative efforts bearing fruit.  Please have this process completed by December 1, 2011.

6) Continually participate in the process by empowering our chi field.

Professional development

Write down your most important personal goals or intentions for activating your capacity as a teacher, healer or community leader.

Note any significant personal limitations that would need your attention to reach your goals

Picture where you’d like to be in 6 months time in relationship to your goal.

Then write down a positive statement about where you will be in 6 months: Visioning, for example: “I will be a teacher who is confident and supportive of those with chronic illness”.

Now, with these goals in mind:
What skills do you need to acquire? First in terms of learning WHQ practices ... Be honest about which practices you need to refine to teach others, and what ways you can be humble when you do not know a practice completely

What skills do you need to acquire in terms of capacity for energy transmission ... Write a statement that describes specifically what you need to develop in this arena i.e. focused visualization, emptying mind of distractions, clear intention etc,

What skills do you need to acquire with relational capacities (listening deeply, honoring uniqueness, clarifying the difference between my needs and student’s needs etc....) Write a statement that describes relational blocks that come up for you, they may be with particular people or situations.

What skills do you need to have an increase sense of joy and aliveness, a greater free flow of energy? Write a statement of your sense of what might activate a greater flow for you.

What skills do you need speaking, teaching, sharing about WHQ theories, methodologies and methods of practice? Please reflect on your capacities, gifts and needs.

What skills do you need in the logistics and business side of realizing your potential? Please reflect on your capacities, gifts and needs.  (Insurance, publicity, on-line presence, tax, organizing events, follow up with students)

WHQ professional support community

Currently, with your own personal and professional goals in mind, what kind of support do you desire from the WHQ community?

_____ I’d like a mentor to meet with once a month, in person, Skype or phone for activating my potential, seeking wisdom together, cultivating skills and  honoring the intentions I have set for myself and the practices I am exploring to cultivate my capacities. This mentor would be someone who has realized some of what I desire to achieve myself.
_____ I prefer a chi buddy to journey with, someone with similar progress in WHQ cultivation.

_____ I’d like to be a part of a group of other WHQ active participants, seeking like I am to sincerely cultivate Gong, meeting quarterly in some location.
_____ group classes to teach me details of teaching WHQ forms, or other specific goal.
_____ private session to get very specific personal support

_____ none, Im figuring it out on my own
